On July 27, Play’n GO, a leading Swedish-based iGaming supplier, released Sweet Alchemy 100, part of the 100 slot series, which is a witch-themed slot featuring 3 cute witches who team up to use their abilities to convert sweet candies into wins.
In addition, the provider’s previous similar hits include Sweet Alchemy, Sweet Alchemy 2 and Moon Princess.
True to its name, the main theme of the slot is the aforementioned three witches, Cherry, Berry and Apple, where each of them possesses unique charms that may help players secure wins. The game takes place in a mystical world where big purple and pink clouds dominate the screen. At the start of the game, a random witch is selected, and when her power is triggered, the next one takes her place on the right side of the grid. The sequence goes Cherry, Berry and then Apple.
To win, players must form combinations of 3 or more matching adjacent symbols in horizontal or vertical lines on a 5×5 grid, where instead of paylines the game uses a cluster pays mechanic. In addition, the game is available on all devices and it’s volatility is rated 8 out of 10, the default RTP is 96.2% and the maximum win is 15,000x a player’s bet.
The basic low-value symbols are green, turquoise, blue and red candies, while the high-value bonus symbols are our cute witches Cherry, Berry and Apple. A combination of 3+ low-value symbols is worth 0.1x and 3x a player’s bet, while high-value bonus symbols as individuals are worth 0.3x to 10x for at least 3 of them, but combined are worth 0.2x to 5x a player’s bet.
Cascades – each time a winning cluster appears, the paying symbols vanish from their positions, leaving the positions empty. Then, new symbols fall down to fill said positions and make new winning clusters. This feature stops when there are no more winning clusters in sight.
The Wild only lands on the middle symbol position when a combination of 3 symbols disappear from the grid. In addition, the win multiplier grows with every new drop, which resets between paid spins.
Wild Symbol – the Wild, a multicolored candy, replaces any regular paying symbol.Also, when 3+ Wilds land, they are worth 1x to 50x a player’s bet.
Witch Power feature – this one is randomly activated on non-winning spins throughout the base game. After activation, the witch currently on the screen activates her special charm:
- Cherry – transforms one type of symbol on the grid;
- Berry – rewards one or two Wilds;
- Apple – removes 2 types of symbols from the reels.
Trinity feature – in order for this feature to be activated, players need to charge the 3-segment meter at the bottom of the reels with winning combinations of witch symbols. However, combinations with Wild may also help to activate this feature. When players land a combo of 3, 4 and 5 symbols, they fill 1 to 3 segments, individually.
As soon as it activates, it rewards players with 1 free spin, with each of the witches triggering their power. Furthermore, if the grid is cleared through this feature, a bonus round of free spins will be triggered.
Free Spins – at the start of this round, players need to choose their favorite witch, who then awards them with 4, 5 or 8 free spins. Throughout the entire round, the chosen power is activated on each non-winning spin. Filling up the power meter activates extra spins, which can reach a maximum of 100 and if players manage to clear every position on the grid at once without using Trinity, they may get an instant reward worth 50x the current stake.
However, there is also a win multiplier from the Trinity feature, which doesn’t reset as long as the feature lasts, but can rise up to 100x the bet.
Commenting on the launch, George Olekszy, Head of Game Retention at Play’n GO, said: “As Sweet Alchemy is such a beloved Play’n GO slot, it only made sense to commission two sequels – last month’s Sweet Alchemy 2, and Sweet Alchemy 100. We think that Sweet Alchemy 100 embodies everything that made the original title so much fun whilst being a premium new entry in the 100 Series, not to mention building on the IP with the addition of three new characters. We know the fans love the Free Rounds and transforming sweet symbols from the first game, so we had to bring them back with a new twist.”
